Jay Gibson, D.D.S.
Clinical Associate Professor
Dr. Jerome “Jay“ Gibson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and is fully board certified. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and is an alumnus of Baylor University. After graduating from UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry with honors and completion of a fellowship at the National Institutes of Health, he completed the orthodontic residency program at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, Shands Hospital.
In 1991, he entered private practice in San Antonio, Texas, and began teaching as a clinical instructor in orthodontics with the UT Health San Antonio Dental School Department of Orthodontics. He was also the Audie Murphy V.A. Hospital orthodontic consultant from 1996-2000. Dr. Gibson has been treating children with significant facial deformities since 1989, and is active with the FACES team for treatment of children with craniofacial deformities in San Antonio. He was recognized as Young Dentist of the Year for San Antonio in 1996, and was the recipient of the C.T. Rowland award for excellence in orthodontic care.
Dr. Gibson and his wife, Jenny, have two children, and he enjoys coaching soccer, kayaking and saltwater fly-fishing.
