Dr. Gibbons is a Fellowship trained Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon. He currently practices in San Antonio and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Gibbons is the Associate Program Director for the Orthopaedic Residency Program. He is board certified by the ABOS (American Board of Orhtopaedic Surgery), he is a member of the AAOS (American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons) and POSNA (Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America) as well as the Texas Orthopaedic Association. Dr. Gibbons treats pediatric orthopaedic conditions such as club foot, hip dysplasia, and leg deformities. He treats musculoskeletal deformities related to conditions such as cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, and many other syndromes. He treats all types of fractures in children and adolescents and most sports related injuries. He also treats musculoskeletal infections in the pediatric population.
Dr. Gibbons has various publications in peer reviewed journals and lectures in the Department of Orthopaedics as well as state and national conferences. He is a deputy editor for the European Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology. Dr. Gibbons is originally from Dallas and is an avid New Orleans Saints fan and a UT Longhorns fan. He has 3 children and enjoys many outdoor activities with them.
