Steven D Gibbons, MD

Assistant Professor/Clinical

Department of Orthopaedics

Dr. Gibbons is a Fellowship trained Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon.  He currently practices in San Antonio and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.  He is a member of the AAOS (American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons) and POSNA (Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America) as well as the Texas Medical Association.  Dr. Gibbons treats pediatric orthopaedic deformities such as club foot, hip dysplasia, and leg deformities.  He treats musculoskeletal deformities related to conditions such as cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, and many other syndromes.  He treats all types of fractures in children and adolescents and most sports related injuries.   He also treats musculoskeletal infections in the pediatric population.

Dr. Gibbons has various publications in peer reviewed journals and lectures in the Department of Orthopaedics as well as state and national conferences. Dr. Gibbons is originally from Dallas and is an avid New Orleans Saints fan and a UT Longhorns fan.  He has 3 children and enjoys many outdoor activities with them.
