Jay Ferrell, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at UT Health San Antonio. He currently serves as Co-Director of the Division of Head and Neck Surgery and Director of the Head and Neck Robotic Surgery Program. Dr. Ferrell is a Texas native who completed his medical and residency training at Texas A&M University and the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, respectively. During his residency training, he had the opportunity to rotate on the head and neck service at MD Anderson Cancer Center and gained invaluable experience in the multidisciplinary care of head and neck cancer patients. He then pursued a fellowship in advanced head and neck surgical oncology at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Ferrell treats both benign and malignant disorders of the head and neck, and he has specific clinical interest in transoral robotic surgery (TORS) and the surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid disorders. His academic interests include evaluating quality and outcomes in head and neck cancer treatment, head and neck endocrine surgery, and disparities in healthcare delivery.
