Kimberly Ferland, Ed.D., OTR, CHT, PMP, CKM

Dr. Kim Ferland is a retired U.S. Navy Captain (O6) with 35 years of distinguished service. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch, a Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. Board-certified in Hand Therapy and credentialed in Project Management and Knowledge Management, Dr. Ferland has excelled in diverse clinical and leadership roles. She directed the tri-service Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Fort Sam Houston, served as the specialty advisor in occupational therapy to the U.S. Navy Surgeon General, and contributed to the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) as a Roster of Accreditation Evaluator. Her career spans school-based therapy, inpatient rehabilitation, orthopedics, and multiple overseas deployments. At the University of Texas at San Antonio OTD program, Dr. Ferland teaches biomechanics-focused courses, including splinting, physical agent modalities, ergonomic assessment, and adult rehabilitation processes.
