Nauman Farooq, MD

Dr. Farooq is Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at UT Health San Antonio, where he works in the Cardiothoracic and Transplant ICU.
He is from Pakistan where he attended the King Edward Medical University for his medical education. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at St. Agnes Hospital, Baltimore, MD, and pursued a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He held the roles of Chief Fellow and Point of Care Ultrasound Fellow during his fellowship. Dr. Farooq has a special interest in POCUS use and care of cardiothoracic and post solid-organ transplant ICU patients. He is also ELSO certified adult ECMO practitioner.
