Fidel Del Toro, Jr., DDS., PhD

Dr. Fidel Del Toro is an orthodontist, educator, and program leader with extensive clinical, academic, and professional service experience. As Orthodontic Residency Program Director, he helps prepare residents through evidence-based instruction, clinical mentoring, and patient-centered care.

He earned a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin, a DDS from UT Health San Antonio, and both a Certificate in Orthodontics and PhD in Pharmacology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

A board-certified orthodontist from the American Board of Orthodontics, Dr. Del Toro has practiced for 30 years and served on the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry faculty since 1996.  Dr. Del Toro was one of the original team that established the Orthodontic Residency Program at UT Health in 2000.

Dr. Del Toro maintained a private practice in Austin, Texas, for over 20 years and has also served on the Dental Review Panel of the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. His work combines clinical expertise, educational leadership, and a commitment to high standards in orthodontic care.
