Rachael Counts, MD

Rachael Counts graduated from Baylor University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She went on to receive of Doctor of Medicine degree from Texas A&M University College of Medicine in 2020, where she selected for membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha and the Gold Humanism Honor Societies. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Health San Antonio in 2024. During her residency, she completed electives in complex family planning and health systems science, as well as the Compassion-Integrity Program for Residents and Fellows. She was also awarded the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine Award for Excellence in Obstetrics, Society for OBGYN Hospitalists “Outstanding Resident of the Year” award, and the Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award. She joined the faculty at UT Health San Antonio in 2024. She currently serves as the faculty advisor for Pelvic Health Night at the Pride Clinic. Her clinical interests include complex family planning, management of labor and delivery, care of the LGBTQIA+ population, quality improvement initiatives, and medical student and resident education.
