Zachary Clarke, MD

Dr. Clarke is an orthopaedic surgeon with specialized training in adult reconstruction and a strong foundation in academic medicine and clinical research. He recently joined the Department of Orthopaedics at UT Health San Antonio, where he brings a patient-centered, evidence-based approach to surgical care, with a focus on innovation, education, and collaborative practice.

A native of Beaumont, Texas, Dr. Clarke  earned his undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University, where he was a four-year starter on the varsity soccer team. He began cultivating his passion for musculoskeletal medicine at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, gaining valuable clinical and research experience in pediatric and general orthopaedics.

He went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and matched into orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Colorado. He then completed the prestigious Anderson Orthopaedic Fellowship in Adult Reconstruction in Alexandria, Virginia, where he received advanced training in complex hip and knee replacement procedures.

Dr. Clarke has authored multiple publications in peer-reviewed orthopaedic journals and remains engaged in research aimed at improving outcomes in joint reconstruction. His clinical interests include anterior hip replacement, partial knee arthroplasty, minimally invasive techniques, revision arthroplasty, and perioperative optimization.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Clarke enjoys spending time with his wife, Victoria, and their three children. As a family, they enjoy skiing, hiking, biking, and exploring the outdoors together.
