Alicia R Casarez-Quintana, DDS, MS
Assistant Professor/Clinical
Dr. Casarez-Quintana is a dedicated dental professional specializing in Periodontics and Advanced General Dentistry. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2015, followed by an Advanced General Dentistry Certificate in 2017 after completing a two-year residency. She then practiced as a general dentist in private practice for two years before returning to San Antonio in 2019 to pursue a residency in Periodontics. In 2022, she obtained a Master of Science (MS) and a Certificate in Periodontics from the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSA). Prior to joining UTHSA as faculty in 2025, she practiced as a periodontist in the Northeast.
With extensive experience in both private practice and clinical settings, Dr. Casarez-Quintana specializes in a wide range of periodontal and surgical procedures. She is dedicated to a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to patient care, ensuring comprehensive and optimal treatment outcomes.
Board Certified in Periodontology, Dr. Casarez-Quintana also holds certifications in nitrous oxide sedation, oral conscious sedation, and IV moderate conscious sedation, emphasizing patient care and comfort.
Currently, she serves as a full-time Assistant Professor/Clinical in the Department of Periodontics at UTHSA, where she is dedicated to advancing periodontal education and mentoring the next generation of dental professionals.
