Christine Ramos Camacho, M.D., M.S.

Family Medicine Residency Program

Dr. Christine Ramos Camacho is a dual board-certified Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine physician. She received her master's degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio and medical degree from San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. She then completed her residency training at the UT Health San Antonio Family Medicine Residency Program, where she was awarded "Third Year Resident of the Year". She has also been recognized as one of San Antonio's Top Doctors annually since 2022. Dr. Camacho has also been involved in numerous research projects involving pre-diabetes, tobacco cessation, health literacy for immigrants, and COVID-19 provider wellness that have been presented and recognized at state and national conferences. Dr. Camacho currently partners with MetroHealth to support diabetes prevention and smoking cessation programs within the University Health System, and also serves as Co-Chair of the Eliminate Tobacco Use committee of UT Health San Antonio. On a national level, she holds the role of Community Engagement Co-Chair for the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Family Medicine Champion initiative and is recognized as an AAFP Leading Physician Well-Being Scholar.

She appreciates the population of South Texas after growing up in Laredo, and is passionate about primary care management, preventative medicine and caring for patients of all age ranges. She currently practices at the Robert B. Green and University Hospital. She enjoys opportunities in research and community engagement, alongside medical student and resident education, as core faculty of the UT Health San Antonio Family Medicine Residency Program.
