Ashlee Blume is a board-certified physician assistant and the Clinical Director of the Mosaic Limb Optimization Program, a multidisciplinary initiative dedicated to advancing amputee care through surgical innovation, prosthetic interface optimization, and coordinated long-term support. Her work integrates a comprehensive approach to limb loss, with a special focus on osseointegration, limb salvage, and complex orthopedic oncology.

Raised in Arlington, Texas, Ashlee’s background in kinesiology and her early clinical work in oncology and neurology provided a strong foundation for her current role. After earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas, she went on to complete her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at UT Health San Antonio, where she later joined the Department of Orthopedics in 2021.

As a core team member of the Orthopedic Oncology division, Ashlee has played a vital role in developing high-functioning clinical pathways that bridge surgical care, prosthetics, rehabilitation, and patient education. She has been instrumental in launching UT Health’s advanced osseointegration program and in streamlining services across surgical, rehabilitation, and support disciplines. Her work has directly contributed to the creation of a center of excellence model that enhances access to cutting-edge care for individuals with complex limb conditions.

Ashlee is also actively involved in medical education and mentorship. She teaches in the orthopedic oncology block of the physician assistant program and mentors students pursuing careers in orthopaedic medicine. Known for her ability to navigate high-acuity cases with both clinical precision and human compassion, Ashlee exemplifies the patient-centered ethos behind the Mosaic program.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys dancing, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her loved ones.
