Alberto Barrera, PT, DPT, NCS, CSRS

Alberto Barrera, PT, DPT, NCS, CSRS, is a licensed physical therapist specializing in neurologic rehabilitation. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from UT Health San Antonio in 2022 and his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2016. Dr. Barrera holds board certification as a Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS) and is also a Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist (CSRS). His clinical experience spans acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient settings, where he has provided care for individuals with a wide range of neurologic conditions, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis.

Dr. Barrera is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care aimed at maximizing function and promoting recovery. He has a strong interest in the science of neuroplasticity and the ongoing advancement of neurologic rehabilitation practices. Outside of his professional pursuits, Dr. Barrera enjoys running, watching sports—particularly soccer and football—and engaging with research and podcasts focused on neurorehabilitation and mental health.
