Dr. Jack Badawy is a published, board-certified Hospitalist who joined UT Health San Antonio as an Assistant Professor/Clinical in August 2017. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alexandria Faculty of Medicine in Egypt in April 2011 before going on to complete his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in June 2016 and a General Internal Medicine fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas in July 2017.
Dr. Badawy has served as a co-director of the Hospital Medicine fellowship program since its inaugural year and, for his dedication to the education of his fellow physicians, was awarded the rank of Associate Professor/Clinical in April 2024. He is the recipient of several honors including the prestigious UT Presidential Award in Emerging Teaching Excellence in January 2024 and the Division of Hospital Medicine’s “Educator of the Year Award” in 2022.
