Cristina Awad, MD

Dr. Christina Awad is triple board-certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Obesity Medicine at UT Health San Antonio. She is the medical director of metabolic health and faculty director for AI and innovation. 

She specializes in hepatology, fatty liver disease (MASLD/MASH), obesity, and metabolic health. She is passionate about providing personalized, patient-centered care focused on comprehensive weight management, liver disease prevention, and improving long-term health. She also has a strong interest in artificial intelligence and its potential to improve healthcare delivery, clinical decision-making, and patient outcomes.
