Christine A. Andre, MD

Dr. Christine Andre is a published, board-certified Hospitalist who joined UT Health San Antonio as an Assistant Professor/Clinical in August 2004 after having completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in 2003. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from UTHSCSA in 2000 (serving as Chief Resident from 2003 to 2004) and also holds a Bachelor of Art in Biology (with a minor in Chemistry) which she earned from the University of Texas at Austin in 1994.

Dr. Andre has flourished during her time with UT Health San Antonio, becoming an Associate Professor/Clinical in 2012 before rising to the rank of Professor/Clinical in 2021. She has also served as the Director of Veritas, a career advising and mentoring program for medical students, from 2006-2022 and became the Vice Chair for Faculty Development in 2023. Dr. Andre is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including the "Top 21 Preceptor Award" (2010), "Top 20 Preceptor Award" (2009), "Top 25 Preceptor Award" (2008), "Outstanding Faculty Award" (2005),"Commendation for Outstanding Professionalism" (2005), and the UT Presidential Award in Sustained Teaching Excellence (2024). She is a member of several professional organizations including the Association of American Medical Colleges, Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine, the Society of General Internal Medicine, the American College of Physicians, and the Gold Humanism Society.
