Penny Vroman, M.D.
Associate Professor/Clinical
I recently retired from the United States Air Force after completing 20 years of service. During my years of military service, I lived in California, Louisiana, Alaska, and Texas. I also previously deployed to Iraq.
I was previously Board Certified in Family Medicine for 10 years prior to radiology training. I completed my Diagnostic Radiology residency training in San Antonio through SAUSHEC Diagnostic Radiology residency program in 2012 and became Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology the same year. I completed a Nuclear Medicine Fellowship Program through SAUSHEC 2013 and became Board Certified in Nuclear Medicine the same year.
As a dual Board Certified Nuclear Radiologist, I served most recently as the SAUSHEC Nuclear Medicine Fellowship Program Director and the Chief of the Nuclear Medicine Department at Brooke Army Medical Center.
My current interests include Theranostic treatment of cancer with radiopharmaceuticals such as Lutathera and Xofigo.
I am also a proud parent of 2 lovely daughters who are very much looking forward to resuming their college and high school careers. When I’m not at work, I’m actively engaged in school related activities and especially support the Boerne Champion Charger Marching Band.
