Dr. Patel received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio. He completed his internship, residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine at UT Health in San Antonio. He completed his fellowship training in Nephrology also at UT Health in San Antonio. He specializes in adult kidney transplant and has a special interest in living kidney donation and donor outcomes.
