Maria I Velez, M.D.

Dr. Maria Velez is an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and specializes in interventional pulmonology and advanced lung diseases. She received her Doctor of Medicine in 2006 at CES university in Colombia. In 2012, she completed her internship and residency in internal medicine followed by subspecialty training in pulmonary diseases in 2014 and critical care medicine in 2015. In 2016 she completed a fellowship in lung transplant and interventional pulmonology. She is an active member of the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Thoracic Society and The American Association Of bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology.
